K-12 | Coeducational | Day | IB World School | Taaleem

For August 2016

Raha International School, a part of the Taaleem family of schools, is one of the top 5 schools in Abu Dhabi and is officially recognised as a ‘high performing school’ by ADEC (Abu Dhabi Education Council). It was one of the first schools in Abu Dhabi to be fully authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes. The school is fully inclusive, currently with just over 1,800 students from more than 70 different nationalities, and will grow to a school of over 2,000 students.

Raha International School’s vision is to be the preferred school for students, parents and educators who seek excellence through an innovative IB education. Its mission is: to empower and equip individuals to excel; to provide a safe, happy and caring community; to inspire thoughtful action locally and globally; to create a passion for learning, and, in so doing, to transcend the ordinary.

The School is situated on 14 acres of beautifully landscaped property a short drive from the city centre in a residential area near the Abu Dhabi Golf course. The campus is unique in that buildings are constructed according to traditional Arabic architecture with wind towers and finishes in colours reflective of the nearby desert and sea. It features several large piazzas and wide walk areas lined with palm trees with an abundance of open space and play areas where children can actively interact with their peers and teachers. Excellent facilities and resources provide an outstanding learning environment for all age groups in all subjects and activities. The School is accredited by CIS and NEASC and is a member of ECIS.

Raha International School benefits from being a part of the Taaleem family of schools. The group, which is the second largest education provider in the UAE, owns and manages eleven schools across the Emirates. Taaleem’s vision is to be the most respected provider of early childhood, primary and secondary education in the Gulf with a mission to inspire its students and staff to explore, identify and develop their passions and talents.

Due to the retirement of the current Principal, the Board and CEO of Taaleem are currently seeking to recruit a new Principal to lead Raha International School from August 2016. The new Principal will have a demonstrable track record of outstanding educational leadership, with experience of the International Baccalaureate programme and preferably of substantial leadership in international settings. The successful candidate will have strong strategic insight, with a sound understanding not only of how to lead a successful and thriving school, but also of how to contribute and work collaboratively with a wider family of schools. Excellent interpersonal skills will be needed to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders including the local regulatory authorities.
