LSC Research raises funds for United World Schools
LSC Education recently conducted an International School Leadership Survey, in which we invited school leaders from around the world to share their views and experiences. We promised that for every survey completed we would make a donation to United World Schools. We are pleased to say that the resulting donation, from over 200 survey responses, is now making a significant impact in a community school in Kaung Whatt, Eastern Myanmar.
UWC have written to tell us all about it.....
"The money that you have raised will allow us to support nearly ten children’s entire education for a whole year at the school. UWS schools provide an educational opportunity for children who have to work in the fields during the day or their parents who missed out on their own opportunity to access education as a child. Your contribution will also go towards teacher development to ensure that these classrooms are places of excitement and learning. The teacher will be chosen from the local community by the village elders and will be trained by the UWS team.
In a community where only 10% of the population speak the national language we often have to pick Community Teachers that can’t read or write themselves. Finally, your donation will go towards the ongoing running of Kaung Whatt, covering everything from teaching supplies and books to equipment for the vegetable garden. These all add up to ensure that every child has the opportunity to both enjoy and succeed in their education."
